You can glaze your own hexagon tiles if you need them fast!At Tiles with Style, we pride ourselves on creative collaboration with clients, architects, designers, and contractors. We take great care to ensure that your custom hexagon ceramic tiles are unique and one-of-a-kind works of art. Each hand made hexagon tile is painstakingly crafted using white, red, or marbled low-fire clays with bits of nature as their theme. Tiles are hand-carved and hand-glazed, so that no hand made tile has the appearance of being manufactured. Constant attention to detail is placed on design as well as layout, for completely planned installations.
Victorian 2" hexagon ceramic tiles are shown above in a pale blue, hexagon tile floret pattern, and in a 2" solid, satin white hexagon tile. These tiles are 1/2" thick.
Our client Angela Adams of Utah purchased a large quantity of 1 inch hexagon manufactured tiles from a local supplier. She then contacted us for a small quantity of one inch burgundy hexagon tiles to create this lovely historic tile pattern. She sent us a color paint swatch and we matched it as closely as possible. We also matched her 1/8" tile thickness.
The picture above shows handmade elongated hexagon ceramic tiles in a pine tree hexagon ceramic tile and square horseshoe tile design.
If you are tired of the same old straight edges on ceramic tiles, we can also produce a carved, chiseled, or wavy effect to the hexagon ceramic tile edges (as shown above). This tile is a terracotta (red clay) ceramic tile. It has a Pumpkin Harvest glaze that is sponged onto the tile, creating a gloss/matt finish. A oak leaf design has been imprinted into the clay and filled with a Sunset Red gloss glaze. This type of tile makes a great pattern effect to a floor. Just insert one of these every 5 tiles. The remainder of the tiles are without the imprint.
Just tell us your needs and we'll make the tile the way you want it—every time! You can glaze your own manufactured hexagon tilesHere is what you do...pull off the small hexagon ceramic tiles from your square foot hexagon tile sheets in the floret design where you want your color hexagon ceramic tile pattern to be placed. Always include a few extra pieces for spoilage. Go to your local ceramics store, look through their stocked low-fire or mid-fire glazes. These would include; Gare, Duncan, Amaco, Mayco, and possibly some others. Select the color or colors that you want on your tiles. Purchase the glazes and apply two coats of glaze with a top quality brush to the surface of the tiles. You do not want brush marks and you do not want glaze on the bottom of the tiles. NOTE: If you have unglazed tiles, use 3 coats of glaze. Go back to the ceramics store, tell the owner the "cone number"...probably 06, or 05. She/he will fire the tiles accordingly. Remember, always fire some extra pieces. They don't all come out identical! A few days later...voila...a colored hexagon tile to match your decor at a fraction of the cost of handmade tiles...awesome!
