April 2, 2011, the Salamanca  Sports Complex and Community Center had it's grand opening. I've been looking forward to this event for some time. This beautiful 92,000 SF facility is an incredible gathering place for physical fitness, education, and community functions for the community of Salamanca, NY.

This mosaic, ceramic tile lily pond that I call "The Unity Pond," is one of two handmade ceramic tile aquatic ponds / streams I created at the end of 2010 for the Seneca Nation of Indians. The other ceramic tile mosaic pond / stream can be seen on my Seneca Nations Trout page.

The Seneca Nation treasures the beauty of their lands and bounty of nature. What a better way to support this statement, than with a 3 foot wide, 100% handmade, mosaic ceramic tile, koi / lily pond stream that surrounds a  24 foot x 19 foot, oval kiosk, in the grand foyer of the new complex.

As you can see, this nearly 200 SF, ceramic tile mosaic floor is made for walkin'. The handmade, decorative tiles are fully vitrified which means they are non-porous and HARD.
