"Moore's Creek"
Decorative ceramic tile trout streams for large commercial applications,
ceramic tiles for business', tile designs for large spaces, or
your home!
The Seneca Nation of Indians,
the keepers of the western door, consist of six tribes; Seneca, Cayuga,
Onondaga, Oneida, Mohawk, and the Tuscarora. They
have endured hardship for many years. As a child, I remember the extreme poverty
on the reservation. I'm happy to say that things are changing due to their
perseverance and their ingenuity in business.
The Seneca Nation treasures the beauty of their lands and
bounty of nature. What a better way to support this statement, than with a
ceramic tile trout stream
that surrounds a 24 foot x 19 foot, oval kiosk, in the Seneca Nation,
Irving Sports Complex and Community Center, grand foyer.

Grand kiosk, Seneca Nation, Irving Sports Complex and Community Center grand
foyer information kiosk. 177 SF of ceramic tile mosaic trout, rocks, elephant
ear leaves, and clan tiles.

Diane H. Holycross, Master Tile
Artist of Tiles with Style at the Seneca Nation's Sports Complex and
Community Center
in Irving, New York, May 2011.
At the end of 2010, I had the pleasure of working with Odie
Brandt-Porter, executive director of the Capital Improvement Authority and first
lady of the Seneca Nation on two projects; the Salamanca and Cattaraugus
Sports Complex and Community Centers.
These 92,000 SF facilities are a wonderful gathering place for physical fitness,
education, and community functions. They are equal or better than any community
centers found in major cities.

As a lover of nature, I poured my soul into this ceramic
tile trout stream. I have a trout stream in my own backyard that is near and
dear to my heart. It doesn't have a name, but I like to call it
"Moore's Creek," in honor of my Mom & Dad, who have lived on this
land since 1957. It's a place I love to go when the stresses of the day are
overwhelming.
Occasionally a young gentleman, Neal from Tuscarora tribe,
visits our stream to fish. I was told it once was a treasured fishing spot of
his forefathers.

"Moore's Creek"
The actual ceramic tile trout stream is life-size.
Full-size ceramic tile rocks, tile
elephant ear leaves, salmon ceramic tiles, and ceramic tile trout

tile stream / pond.

This would make a beautiful
shower floor!
