2009 Roger O. Holycross memorial ceramic tile design

This memorial ceramic tile design was made by me for my husband Roger O. Holycross. We were married for 21+ years.

My husband Roger was the most wonderful person I’ve ever known. He had the kindest nature, was extremely intelligent, never let ANYTHING bother him for more than five minutes, yes, five minutes, and he was my best friend.

He was always very supportive of my artistic endeavors, and occasionally helped me in my studio to create your works of art. He said he was my biggest fan!

If all men were like my husband, there would be no wars and all that pass by would say hello. The world would truly be a better place to live.

Roger fought a valiant battle against Multiple Myeloma (bone marrow cancer), Renal Failure, and MDS, a form of leukemia, without ever once complaining. He was always at such peace with himself and his surroundings. He stood tall and carried himself well throughout life.

When it was Roger's time to pass, he took it unbelievably well. He left me in this world with many great memories and a true, unconditional love that most never experience.

This custom, ceramic tile memorial was done for my client E Egers. Each of the three herons, represent a family member that removed their "organic body suits," and crossed back into the light of unconditional love of Lord Father.

Kieren memorial ceramic tile design

Our client, Andrea Conneely of Hopewell Junctions, NY lost her brother, Kieran, at age 41. He loved Montana, elk hunting, and duck hunting. 

We came up with the idea of this memorial mosaic tile for the customer's shower alcove. The "tree of life," the maple tree, contains 41 leaves, representing each year of her brother's life. 

To begin, Andrea sent us some tile samples for color and a cardboard template of the space that we needed to create her memorial tile mural.

We sent her the drawing shown at the right, made a few modifications, and in a little over one month, a gorgeous, "in memory of" tile mural was created based on her specifications.

This Bull elk, ceramic animal tile is hand carved, and slightly thicker, than the other ceramic tiles. It is featured in the lower left corner of the tile memorial mosaic picture shown above.

As well, this cow elk ceramic tile is also hand carved and slightly thicker to create a dramatic ceramic tile commemorative mosaic. It is shown in the lower right corner of the ceramic tile memorial shower backsplash.
