Decorative ceramic tile, custom hand made tile for unlimited possibilities

ceramic tile glaze color, ceramic tile finishes, unglazed ceramic tile, gloss ceramic tile, satin ceramic tile, multi-finish ceramic tile, metallic ceramic tile, textured ceramic tile, faux stone ceramic tile, imprinted ceramic tile, interlocking ceramic tiles , interlock tile, and more!

tile finishes

  • unglazed ceramic tile — commonly found in mexican ceramic tile, usually a terracotta colored tile. This type of tile is not to be used in wet areas. If you use mexican tile that is unglazed, you might want to seal the tile prior to installation...grouts will stain this tile base.

  • matt glaze ceramic tile — a matt ceramic tile glaze has little to no sheen. We like to use it on our dog track tile, and cat track tile.

  • satin glaze ceramic tile — a satin ceramic tile glaze has a slight sheen. We like to use satin glazed tiles with Italian marble, terrazzo tile, and slate tiles.

  • gloss ceramic tile glaze — a gloss ceramic tile glaze has a glass-like appearance. It is extremely shiny and looks fabulous on our round ceramic tiles and our leaf ceramic tiles.
  • multi-tonal ceramic tile glaze
  • This one example of many lovely crystal glazes. This crystal ceramic tile glaze is splotchy in appearance. Some of these crystal glazes have a glossy, satin, and matt finish all in one base. It's one of my personal favorites!
  • metallic ceramic tile glaze — this type of ceramic tile glaze generally has a metal quality. They range from silver, gold, bronze, and brass.
  • art glazed ceramic tile — this type of ceramic tile glaze has a two-tone quality. Depending on how thick the glaze is applied, the color changes. This is an excellent glaze for creating depth and is commonly used on our ceramic tile leaves.
  • crackle ceramic tile glaze — this type of ceramic tile glaze has tiny cracks that run throughout the face of the ceramic tile.

The picture above shows four of the ceramic tile glaze finishes. They include:

  • multi-finish glaze —the green / blue ceramic tiles are glazed in a multi-tonal glaze called Tropical Feathers.

  • satin glaze — the pinecone tile and tree tiles, white background are fired in a white satin finish.

  • metallic ceramic tile glaze — the horseshoe ceramic tiles are glazed in a heirloom silver tone. It's difficult to see from the picture, but this glaze actually looks like tarnished sterling silver. When touched, an additional metallic creation occurs. It's very unique.

  • gloss ceramic tile glaze — the pine trees on the pine tree ceramic tiles, pinecones on the pinecone ceramic tiles, and the white background on the raised, square horseshoe ceramic tiles are a gloss finish.

See the Colors link in our Table of Contents.

Another interesting thing about our handmade ceramic tiles is that you can have images recessed into the tile, or raised off the ceramic tile

Going back to the picture above. The horseshoe tiles are actually slightly raised off the surface of the tile base, while the pinetree tile and pine cone tile are slightly pressed into the clay base.

This type of ceramic tile configuration adds greatly to the overall appearance of the ceramic tile backsplash — it creates depth. The use of the multi-finish glaze pulls the entire tile design together, by utilizing the numerous ceramic tile finishes.

tile textures

There are a multitude of textures that can be created on the surface of ceramic tile. One of our favorites is a stone texture. We use it quite a bit on our square rock tiles / ceramic rock - shape tiles, our dog biscuit ceramic tile, and occasionally on other handmade ceramic tiles.

imprinted tiles

We have the ability to imprint your handmade ceramic tiles with your logo, name of your company, pets names, kids, names, and more!

If you want a logo ceramic tile, just send us a rubberstamp with your logo, and we'll imprint your custom ceramic tiles.

Shown to the left are dog memorial ceramic tiles. They can be hung above your pets grave. Note: please indicate the usage. We use high-fire clays for outside pieces.

interlock tiles

NEW! We're about to release an easy installation tile design. Basically we take a square tile and pre-cut holes in the tiles where you can easily insert various Tiles with Style shaped tiles.
