New in 2015 baby honu sea turtles. This is a new design featuring baby and adult sea turtle ceramic tiles in a pastel beach design. The herons behave themselves as the babies work their way through the sand safely to the water. The pastel pallet for this ceramic tile mosaic was custom, as are all of our mosaic tile designs. The different shaped tiles create texture and depth. The water is clearly defined between the sky and the beach by using a medium thick wavy tile.
This large sea turtle / beach panel is a wall mosaic for a home in Galveston, Texas. The picture below shows a close-up of the detail on the turtle shaped mosaic tiles.
The baby sea turtle tiles above are about 4" in size. I particularly like the new front view momma sea turtle-shaped tile at the top of the picture.

What was master tile artist, Diane H. Holycross' inspiration? The client sent a mesh mounted coral tile swatch.
"I carefully examined the color spectrum of the coral and determined it was a white, off-white, tan, and cream mix of colors." The coral had small divots, which could be represented with a cobblestone glaze technique."
"I felt the main elements should be the darker tones, so I used a cream-based clay." The background tiles a off-white-based clay."
The crab ceramic tile and shell tile shown above are a good example of how a simple monochrome coloring can make a big statement.
This is the mother ceramic tile mosaic turtle. There are three baby turtle tiles in tow, all of which can be viewed in a picture shown above.
This 12' tall x 48" long, narrow mosaic tile beach backsplash uses a mix of cattail / bull rush tiles, a crab shaped tile, a sand dollar, three seahorses, a few shell tiles, two flounder shaped tiles, and a clam shell. "I just wanted to let you know that our fireplace you designed is the center of attention. I could not be more impressed with the quality of your work and your vision. You articulated with tiles exactly what a beach in San Clemente Ca would look like. The pelicans in flight , the lobster, the egret, the sea glass, the sand dollars, it is amazing how each piece is so slightly different. a very proud owner of a Tiles with Styles fireplace." Cindy J. Our client Barbie W. sent us this picture of her bathroom remodel. She expressed an interest in having a coral reef ceramic tile scene on the back walls of this shower. She wanted a shaped treasure chest tile, mosaic tile shark, school of sea turtle tiles, and much more in a unique handmade ceramic tile mosaic.
