"We sold our beach home and we are building a new one. Your artwork was one of the selling points of our last home." M Hays, Bridge City, TX

products: beach ceramic tile mosaics

Decorative ceramic tile, custom hand made beach themed tile for unlimited possibilities – monochrome beach scene tiles, shell tiles, crab mosaic tiles, starfish tiles, sea turtle mosaic tiles, and more!

Picture yourself on a beach with sand dollars and shells at your feet. A heron stands to the left in a bed of cattails and grasses. To the right, a sandpiper stands in the sand near a piece of driftwood, while a mother sea turtle and her offspring follow in tow. Now you can have your very own on your mosaic ceramic tile beach kitchen backsplash, bathroom mosaic tile backsplash, or beach border tiles in your home.

The client ordered two custom ceramic tile back splashes. One was a tropical ceramic tile backsplash with a gorgeous brunette mermaid mosaic tile. The other order was this lovely beach mosaic tile backsplash for behind a vanity in their bathroom.

What was master tile artist, Diane H. Holycross' inspiration? The client sent a mesh mounted coral tile swatch.

"I carefully examined the color spectrum of the coral and determined it was a white, off-white, tan, and cream mix of colors." The coral had small divots, which could be represented with a cobblestone glaze technique."

"I felt the main elements should be the darker tones, so I used a cream-based clay." The background tiles a off-white-based clay."

The crab ceramic tile and shell tile shown above are a good example of how a simple monochrome coloring can make a big statement.

This is the mother ceramic tile mosaic turtle. There are three baby turtle tiles in tow, all of which can be viewed in a picture shown above.

This 12' tall x 48" long, narrow mosaic tile beach backsplash uses a mix of cattail / bull rush tiles, a crab shaped tile, a sand dollar, three seahorses, a few shell tiles, two flounder shaped tiles, and a clam shell. These were selected based on customer specifications. As were the handmade ceramic tile colors.

The picture below shows a monochrome beach tiled fireplace. It has five pelican tiles skimming the water at the top and an array of different beach tiles on each side.

Here are a few close up pictures...

"I just wanted to let you know that our fireplace you designed is the center of attention. I could not be more impressed with the quality of your work and your vision. You articulated with tiles exactly what a beach in San Clemente Ca would look like. The pelicans in flight , the lobster, the egret, the sea glass, the sand dollars, it is amazing how each piece is so slightly different. a very proud owner of a Tiles with Styles fireplace." Cindy J. San Clemente, California

This is the left side of the ceramic tile mosaic, beach themed fireplace.

The picture below is the right side of the ceramic tile beach themed fireplace design. It includes a couple of hermit crab ceramic tiles, cattail ceramic tiles, a lobster ceramic tile, starfish tile, and a couple of shell tiles in this mosaic tile design.

Now, take a look at a pastel sunset beach handmade ceramic tile fireplace. Our client Janet liked the monochrome ceramic tile beach fireplace pictures above. She lives in Florida and liked the idea of having a sunset at the top of her mosaic tile design, as well as pastel tones. She also preferred some iris'. You can see more great pictures of this design under our tropical sunsets link.

Note: this is a studio layout and the picture was created from four pictures that were pasted together...it was a very large fireplace.

design lesson

Our client Barbie W. sent us this picture of her bathroom remodel. She expressed an interest in having a coral reef ceramic tile scene on the back walls of this shower. She wanted a shaped treasure chest tile, mosaic tile shark, school of sea turtle tiles, and much more in a unique handmade ceramic tile mosaic. From this picture, Diane Holycross, master tile artist of Tiles with Style created a truly unique design.

If you click the picture below, you can see numerous pictures of the finished design that is laid out on a table in the studio. We hope for some finished installation pictures to show you. :)

These pictures show a sea turtle ceramic tiles and rock/beach tiles in a 4" kitchen backsplash border.

Another beautiful installation by Dave Andrade of cadesignbuild@yahoo.com. The yellow, round glass gems were used to create bubbles in the ceramic tile, honu / sea turtle mosaic, and match the clients cabinet color.

Comments from satisfied ceramic tile clients...

BROCHURE

“Having a background in interior decorating, I wanted a distinctive look for my own bathroom remodel so I turned to the amazing look that Diane creates with custom ceramic tiles.

I simply told Diane the number of Koi fish and lily pads that I needed and sent her the colors that I was working with and she created a look that was unique for my needs!

Diane’s talent is amazing, a true artist, each piece had its own detailed look! From start to finish; I couldn’t be more pleased with the ease of the whole transaction.

Looking forward to coming up with another project!”
