Great Blue Heron Trinity Memorial Tile DesignThis is my current favorite tile mural and it's mine! This ceramic tile heron / heron tile mural is in my own shower. It contains three ceramic tile herons; one featured heron tile, one flying heron ceramic tile, and one heron tile hiding in ceramic tile water iris' and ceramic tile cattails.
This tile mural contains 1/2" thick wavy ceramic tile. I really like this tile design. It creates a smooth flowing, soft effect that lends itself well to sky, land, or water. The horizontal lines let the eye focus on the main elements in the decorative ceramic tile mural. Also in this tile mural are two different ceramic tile grout colors. When I design my decorative ceramic tile murals, I always take into account the use of ceramic tile grout. It is more important than to just fill in around the tiles. It can make or break a good design. Notice how the light color grout deemphasizes the pale blue sky tiles at the top of the mural, but as the sky tiles become a darker blue, the color of the tiles becomes more apparent.
This ceramic tile heron mosaic tile design (studio layout) was created for a client in Michigan where cherry trees adorn the landscape. Not only is there one heron tile, but three ceramic tile herons in this mosaic tile creation.
I really like the simplicity of this heron ceramic tile mosaic. It has one fairly large heron tile nestled in a bed of cattail ceramic tiles in a marsh ceramic tile lily pad setting. If you look closely at this heron mosaic tile design, you can find 5 small ceramic tile dragonflies — 3 in the sky, 1 in the marsh, and 1 in the heron tiles bill.
The picture above shows the detail of a frog ceramic tile in cattail ceramic tiles. The round water tiles are lovely and double fired to get a beautiful texture to the tiles. The ceramic tile heron delicately holds a small dragonfly tile in it's bill. As you can see by the picture above, we fully customize ANY of our designs to meet your needs. This heron ceramic tile mosaic was made for a client living in Michigan which is known for their cherry trees. The picture is my studio layout, not yet grouted. Once the finished tile mosaic is grouted it really comes to life. Selecting the right color sanded grout or grouts is key to adding depth to the overall ceramic tile design. I recommended that the client use a dark blue grout at the bottom and a pale blue or light gray grout at the top of this decorative ceramic tile creation.
This ceramic tile heron mosaic includes an Asian fan, iris ceramic tiles, koi ceramic tiles, a frog tile, lily pad tiles, and bamboo ceramic tiles.

These are a few bird-shaped ceramic tiles created in the Tiles with Style studio. Bird tiles MUST be purchased with leaf orders, or they are priced at $150 per square foot of birds. They are very time consuming to produce.

My little buddies, Blackcapped Chickadee ceramic tilesThe Titmouse is another beautiful
songbird found at birdfeeders. I like there small crowns upon the top of their
heads. They remind me of little Blue Jays.

Rose Finch ceramic tileProbably my most favorite bird is the Flicker. We had one visit our birdfeeders for several years that had an entirely red/orange backside on its head...very unusual... outstanding and I have not seen another quite like him.

Female Mallard duck ceramic tileAnother great bird related inspiration for a ceramic tile is a bird feather. This hawk feather tile is quite realistic.
This is a concept drawing for a Pelican ceramic tile mural. It can be made nearly any size. The water behind the ceramic tile pelicans and the sky behind the tile pelicans would be the wavy ceramic tile bars like in the heron tile mural shown above. The four posts would have a wood grain effect on the ceramic tile and the sidewalk would be broken rock tiles with three pelican ceramic tile feathers.
